About Me
Shelley Navejar brings over 27 years of experience in the food service industry to her role as Director of Food Services at Veritas High School.
She joined Seeds of Health in 2016, initially working part-time to help serve lunch. Two years later, Shelley was offered the position of Food Services Director, and she has remained in the role ever since. When Shelley began at Seeds of Health, no breakfast program was offered at Veritas; now, the school is part of a Community Eligibility Program which serves the students both free breakfast and lunch.
Shelley holds an associate degree in Baking and Pastry Arts.
When not working, Shelley loves to craft, feed her family, and travel.
“I always respected the lunch ladies at the schools I attended when I was younger. My grade school best friend's mom was our main kitchen manager, and the way she always made me feel was just ‘loved.’ I had a lot of unfortunate events that would happen at home and at school, and Mrs. Scheck always knew the way to make me smile.
“I always wanted to work in the school area teaching Home Economics, but it unfortunately was not a class that lasted over the years. But getting to be the lunch lady, serving the kids food along with some solid advice, I hope they feel the ‘love’ I got growing up.”
