About Me

Heather Swanson assumed her role as Principal at Veritas High School in February of 2025, after serving for eight months as the school’s Interim Principal. She brings over 25 years of experience in education to her role, having taught at a variety of elementary grade levels and in special education at the high school level.

Drawn to Seeds of Health’s commitment to fostering and maintaining small school environments, Heather joined Veritas High School as a special education teacher in 2018, before serving as Associate Principal from 2020-2024. In addition to teaching, Heather’s previous experience includes working in instructional capacities as a reading and math intervention teacher, an instructional resource coordinator, a gifted and talented coordinator, and an instructional coach.

She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Wittenberg University in 1997 and received certifications in Elementary Education and Special Education. In 2004, she earned her Master of Science in Education in Administration from Northern Illinois University and became certified in Wisconsin to serve as a Principal.

Outside of professional work, Heather enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and going on walks.

“I enjoy partnering with teachers, students and families to help prepare students to be productive participants in their community and to experience postsecondary success.”
