About Me
Rachel brings a passion for science to her role as a science teacher at Veritas High School, a position she has held since 2021. She joined Seeds of Health as an interim science teacher for the second half of the 2020-2021 academic year, before beginning officially at the start of the 2021-2022 year. She has been serving as the Veritas High School Engineering Team Coach since 2021, and she assumed her current position as Science Department Chair in 2023.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics in 2018, a Graduate Certificate in Health Data Info and Analytics in 2019, and a Master of Education in Educational Policy and Leadership (STEM Teaching) in 2021.
While studying for her degrees, Rachel worked as an Undergraduate Research Fellow at Vanderbilt University and an adjunct instructor at Northern Michigan University.
When not teaching, Rachel loves spending time with her husband, daughter, and fur-baby, Walter. She enjoys spending time outside hiking, biking, or going to a park with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting, playing board and card games, and doing LEGO.
“As a science teacher, I enjoy inspiring students to ask questions and investigate to find the answers. Being able to see their excitement and confidence in science grow is the most rewarding part of my job.”
