Greetings on behalf of the Veritas High School Community. Chartered by the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, with an enrollment of 250 students in grades 9 through 12, the entire Veritas community is committed to our mission of preparing students for post-secondary education and career success through an academically challenging curriculum that builds essential competencies for productive participation in the 21st century global community.
The administration, teachers, staff, students, and parents of Veritas work as a team to maintain a culture of learning where every student feels safe, supported, and valued in an environment of respect. Often referred to by our students as their “home away from home”, Veritas is a school where students develop positive relationships and learn from both their teachers and peers in core, Advanced Placement, and diverse elective classes. We have received local, state, and national recognition as a top performing high school and take pride in the accomplishments of our students, many of whom have received generous scholarships to cover their college tuition upon graduation.
Preparing our students for post-secondary educational opportunities is enhanced by our community partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee. The Mentor 2.0 premier technology enriched mentoring program pairs Veritas students with college educated mentors from the Milwaukee community. Veritas and Big Brothers Big Sisters are committed to making sure our students develop personal, academic, and career skills by connecting them to personal and professional networks.
Continuing for 2019-20 is our partnership with Microsoft Philanthropies. Computer Science Courses are taught in collaboration with the “TEALS Program” (Computer Science in Every School). Experts in Computer Science from the Milwaukee area are donating their time on a daily basis to team teach Computer Science Courses at Veritas High School.
In addition to all our focused work on academics, students also enjoy a well-rounded high school experience through participation in WIAA sports, Clubs, and other extra-curricular activities offered at Veritas. At Veritas we like to have fun and do during our Spirit Week for Homecoming – with Homecoming game and dance. We also hold an annual Prom for all students. Throughout the year, Veritas students also become engaged in service hours and fund-raising for local and national causes.
I look forward to the start of the school year and personally invite you to contact our school for more information.
